Maintenance Requirements and Scrapping Conditions of Elevator Wheels
I. Maintenance Requirements
1. For semi-enclosed or open-type bearing products, add No. 3 lithium-based grease. Oil products can also be selected according to customer requirements.
1) There is no need to add oil within half a year after the installation of new sheaves. Start maintenance and oil addition from the 7th month, and then add oil once every quarter.
2) In spring and autumn, the amount of oil added should be controlled within 50g - 80g; in summer and winter, it should be controlled within 80g - 100g.
3) Control method: Use an oil gun to inject oil about 50 times, and then make the elevator run up and down 10 times to ensure that the grease lubricates evenly.
2. For maintenance-free / fully enclosed bearings, before installing the sheave assembly, check the production date and storage condition of the sheaves, whether there are phenomena such as being exposed to rain, bumping damage, grease overflow, etc., and whether the wheel shaft rotates smoothly. Wipe them regularly to prevent foreign substances or water stains on the surface of the bearings from affecting their operation.
II. Scrapping Conditions
According to the requirements in Clause 4.4.6 of GB/T 31821-2015 "Technical Conditions for Scrapping of Main Parts of Elevators", when one of the following situations occurs to the pulley, it is regarded as meeting the technical conditions for scrapping:
a) Severe wear of the rope groove;
b) Defects or abnormal wear of the rope groove;
c) Obvious slippage, clearance or displacement occurs between the hub and the bearing, or between the shaft and the bearing;
d) Cracks appear;
e) Serious deformation or aging cracks occur on the wheels made of non-metallic materials.
